There’s been a huge surge in the online pet-trade, which might seem like an easy route, but beware the dark side. NEVER, EVER, offer a dog ‘free to good home’.
Many of the dog’s and puppies offered for sale are the products of puppy-farming, the result of bad breeding and health issues which, for you, the prospective owner, can mean heartache, and for the dog, an uncertain future
David Bellamy talks us through the hidden world of pet parasites….
Ever wondered how dog’s ‘see’ with their noses?
Here’s the world according to smells….
Meet Pero, a 4-year-old working sheepdog sold on to a Cockermouth farmer, who didn’t take to life in Cumbria. After two weeks and 240 miles of hard going, he turned up back at his old home near Aberystwyth! Thankfully, he’s made his point. Pero won’t be going anywhere.
What a hero!
From 6th April, 2016 the law states that all dog’s in England must be microchipped within 8 weeks of birth or subsequent re-homing.
The cost is approximately £20 from your veterinary surgery, (not a lot for a lifetime’s security!) although rescue centres and animal charities provide this service (alongside inoculation/spaying or neutering) as part of any re-homing package.
